Introduction to Table Saws

Description

This class will aim to teach you the essentials of how to use a table saw. Our shop is equipped with three “SawStop” table saws, known as the safest table saws in North America.

Instruction will cover various aspects, including safety procedures, the utilization of jigs, cross-sleds, and fences, techniques for making rip, cross, mitered, rabbet, and dado cuts, and familiarization with various blade types along with instructions on how to replace and install them.

Considerations

This class is exclusively for instructional purposes and hands-on practice. Although you will be working with various wood types, there will not be a final project for you to take home.

Please remember that wood is a naturally sourced material and may contain flaws or imperfections.

Attire

For your safety and protection, please ensure that you wear tight-fitting shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes

throughout the class. During heavy machine and power tool operations, it is imperative to tie back long hair, roll up long sleeves, and wear hearing and eye protection. You are welcome to bring your own protective gear, or you may use the ones we provide free of charge.

Duration: ~3 hours (Please note that this is an estimation that may differ based on your proficiency and learning speed.)

Class Fee: $120

You do not need to attend a safety orientation in order to attend a class.
