Introduction to Joinery

Description

This class will aim to teach you six popular joinery techniques. During this class we learn how to make the cuts and connections for each technique. You will be creating a small sliding box that will showcase your newly learned skills.

The instruction offered in this class will cover a variety of woodworking joinery techniques, including dowel or biscuit joinery, pocket holes, mitered butt joints, tongue and groove joints, lap joints, bridle joints, box joints or finger joints, and sliding dovetail joints.

Considerations

Your final box size will be approximately 5”L x 3 ⅝”W x 1 β…œβ€H.

Please remember that wood is a naturally sourced material and may contain flaws or imperfections.

Attire

For your safety and protection, please ensure that you wear tight-fitting shirts, long pants, and closed-toed shoes throughout the class. During heavy machine and power tool operations, it is imperative to tie back long hair, roll up long sleeves, and wear hearing and eye protection. You are welcome to bring your own protective gear, or you may use the ones we provide free of charge.

Duration: ~6 hours (Please note that this is an estimation that may differ based on your proficiency and learning speed.)

Class Fee: $240 

You do not need to attend a safety orientation in order to attend a class.
